Odds and Ends!
This is where we dumped all of our strange little recordings as an effort to give you a little behind-the-scenes look at our craft; de-mystifying the process of making music - how little jams sometimes come into songs and how songs evolve with time. This is quite an unique service, I haven't seen any other band do this... (and probably for good reason)
Mostly these are practice tapes recorded with our little stereo tape recorder placed in the middle of the room, so the sound is, to put it nicely, raw. We will try expand the selection in the future; it's all good stuff. :)
Practice 04 Apr 2002
Maybe this is getting a bit out of hand; Teppo brought a laptop to practice and we got these little masterpieces on computer and it's becoming too easy to put these online. Very un-reheased and un-professional and very real. Four little jams - two versions of the "Toronto" jam, a promising "Loviisa" and a very loooong jam "Pasila" (you have been warned).

Practices Nov 2001
Songs from two practices in November 2001. A little ska jam "Brixton", a darker song "Joensuu" and the on-the-pulse "Queens" with Teppo (evidently) on drums, a song penned and "recorded" only hours after the plane crash in Queens 12 Nov 2001. We follow da time. You might hear "Brixton" in some form in the future, the others are pretty much a lost cause. :)

Practice May 2001
Three songs from a practice in May 2001 just before the Kipsari gig. "Leeds" is a radiohead-style slower jam and "Naantali" is a brighter more upbeat jam/song. This practice also featured the initial conception of the song "Milano", which we've recorded (for real) and which has become a regular in our live set ever since. The MP3 there is a shortened version of a long jam that tries to show how a simple riff sometimes evolves into a song.

Practices Nov 2000
Here are some samples of Blanket preparing themselves for Kyläsaarirok2 in November. The songs "Akvarium" and "Oslo" have both been played live a couple of times, but we haven't recorded them in a real studio yet. And who knows if we will ever spend valuable studio time of these...

Practice Nov 1999
This was recorded way-back-in-the-day when Sami and Antti were still in the line-up. It was around November 1999 and I guess we were getting ready for Kyläsaarirok I, after which we had a little change in personnel. The songs changed somewhat with Simo & Willi and we sort of forgot the song "Jamline".
