June 8 2001 - Louhela rokked.

Hey, we had a fun gig at the annual Louhela Jam - check the GIGs page and read all about it... Nothing else too new going on, we have a cool new competition heading your way, we will be looking for the zen master of utterly useless Blanket trivia. The thing should be up sometime next week w/ superduper prizes in store for the one with the most wisdom. Until we meet again... keep on dunkin'.

April 27 2001 - One gig and many pictures.

Ok, our gig at the somewhat legendary - at least annual - Louhela Jam Festival has been confirmed, we'll let you know of details like a exact time and stuff when we know it.

Also, whatever you do, you should not miss the whole new picture gallery available at the Photos page. Seven pictures of our various journeys around the world (and elsewhere) and some sore revelations of our heavyrock past. Check it out!

April 3 2001 - Blanket Bumba

Hi y'all. Last weekend featured the first ever Blanket live experience outside of the Helsinki metropolitan area. We participated in a band competition arranged as a part of a big annual student party - Network. We were against some quality competition, but somehow the judges liked our energy and anger and we ended up winning the whole thing! One of the prizes for this accomplishment was the nervewracking chance to warm up Kemopetrol on the main stage the next night. Supercool and humbling stuff all around, read the Played Page from more details like setlists and thanks and stuff.

Well, still high from this recognition, we plan to play as many gigs as we can during the spring. Also, another gift from the Network competition, we'll be entering the studio with the free 3 days of studio time later on the spring. Lots of good stuff are in the plans, keep on checking these pages and we'll let you know what going on. Also, tshirts are still available, get yours before they run out. Dare to look good!

February 28 2001 - Shows and Fotos.

Hey, you did notice that we have a cool gig coming up on March 30th 2001 at the Network Party in Jyväskylä. There will be a band competition of sorts w/ 6 bands racing for the title. The winner gets ice-cream cones and the usual plus an opportunity to warm up Kemopetrol, which is the main act on Saturday, so we'll be motivated.

Also, desperately adding content to these new funkyass pages... The Blanket family photo album was updated with a bunch of odd pictures inspired by the wonderful new Blanket Tshirt design. We understand.

Also, among the new stuff is the Blanket His Story as told by ville at the BioGraphy page. Check it out, it's real.

February 26 2001 - New Look and Clothes too!

A massive reconstuction of the Blanket home pages has finally taken place. It was an effort, hope you dig the new style. Also, we've moved from the comfort of our school's isp to a new home at nomasi.com. Good to see you here.

More importantly the Blanket Tshirts have arrived! The wonderful amount of votes cast in the Blanket Tshirt Election 2000 were counted many times and we finally found a winner. The Election Headquarters page has the final results and the name of the free-tshirt-contest-winner! And for ultimate coolness, an original Blanket Tshirt can be purchased at a very cheap price from the Consumer page. Shop till you drop, baby!

February 5 2001 - Ch

Hey evrybody. No updates in a while..., this doesn't mean we've been standing still touching ourselves. A bunch of cool new songs have been under construction, the t-shirts are in the press as we speak and these web pages will sport a totally new design and address this week. You'll notice. So good things are happening, stay tuned.

December 15 2000 - Updates and Final Yards.

Hi y'all. The ever-so-relevant Played Page has been updated with last weekend's Vernissa gig, we had a good time, thanks to everybody who showed up. (We like you.)

The oh-so-exciting Blanket-T-Shirt-2000 Vote is heading for a nail-biting finish as the ballots are open (and misplaced) for two more days. If you haven't yet cast your vote, go now and make your voice heard! After next Sunday the extremely accurate counting process will begin led by the highest election official Mr. Leandro di Vincenzo age 1 ½. Expect a landslide victory for "Dudu". We can't do a worse job than the US, so relax. Anyways, the vote will be replaced by a ordering form sometime next week. So stay tuned, it's getting tense.

December 5 2000 - Quick Mp3 Update

Just a quick update; the two new songs are now up and available at our wonderful mp3.com page! Go, download, listen, jump and comment if you can; we'd love to hear what you think of the new dope.

Also; the ever-popular lyrics page has been updated w/ the new tunes and re-organized a little bit also. famor!

December 1 2000 - Hot in the City!

Hey, we've been active; lots of new stuff: we spent the last weekend in the Harju Studio in Helsinki, the two days were sponsored by the City of Helsinki as a reward for our fine performance in the ääni & vimma contest in the spring. Thanks! We took advantage of the good quality studio and the mastery of record-artist Juha Kupiainen by recording two ass-rockin' new songs "Good King" and "My Echo". The fiercest stuff I've heard in a while, if I may say so myself. MP3's of the new songs should be up on our mp3.com page within a couple of days. Download and enjoy! Better than ever.

We are also glad to introduce a new member in to the Blanket crime family - a while back one Mr. Tuukka Järvinen contacted us and volunteered to do some Blanket marketing and help out in selling gigs and stuff. Great! Tuukka was already in the studio last weekend giving tips and support. We are looking for good things to come out of this collaboration.

That's not all. No, sir.
Inspired by the historical events in the 2000 US Presidential Elections, Blanket decided to resort to the customs of "the greatest democracy in the World" - we are proud to introduce the Blanket Xmas2000 T-Shirt Election! The idea is to have the People decide on what design we will use for our t-shirt we plan to print before Xmas. So follow the link above and Vote; one lucky voter will get a free Blanket t-shirt, just leave your info with the vote. More details on the voting page itself. Stay active!

November 8 2000 - The Island Was Rokked!

Still recovering from last Saturday's super-night of rok-n-roll and smiling people - Kyläsaarirok2 - Village Island Rok II was a super night to be a part of. A huge amount of thanks goes out to all of the wonderful bands - JP, Bussikaista, Mild Enough, EspooVantaa and Ulmala, who all showed up and rocked hard even though they weren't paid. Also we'd like to thank our rok DJ/graffiti artist/lighting guru/superlover OJ Hyttinen for the big hand; Jani who recorded the whole evening with his digi-8-trak and Hansu, who saved our budget for next year. :) But the biggest thanks goes to all the wonderful people who withstood some Finnish rain and 'the long journey' and devoted a little of their time to join the partyee. Thanks a million, hope to see you all next year - if there is a next year.

As said, Jani recorded the whole evening, so there might be some sort of live bootleg thing coming out sometime. Stay tuned, we'll have to check out what songs we didn't fuck up too badly... Also, on the recording front: Blanket will be going into the Harju studio in Helsinki for a couple of days at the end of the month; the idea is to record two songs now and two more songs later maybe early next year in some other studio to form the fourth Blanket release. Hope all goes well.

As usual, the Played page was updated with our performance-spectacularr and the Guestbook has been updated by the IFC to stem out a few raging :) rumors. Overall, lots of Blanket goodies still in the store for 2000, keep focused.
