February 19 2002 - Hard at Work.
Howdy y'all. Some time has passed since the last update; hope it's just calm before the storm as we plan to rok the world and elsewhere in a big way during the spring2002.
We're proud to introduce two sets of new practice tapes for your listening pleasure; it's all very real, often crappy, sometimes special. Six new mp3's can be listened or downloaded from the Odds and ends page; we'd love to hear your feedback if possible.
The Rok Video (tm) to end all rok videos for "Good King" is almost done. The rough cut is finished and Good Mikko Hänninen will put the finishing touches on the 3-minute-art-extravaganza hopefully during this week. And as usual, we'll put it up on the home page as soon as possible. We'll also try to offer the clip to all the local cableTV stations, we'll see how it goes. I won't give away the whole thing, but cars, drinking and the law combined with excellent acting work is in store for you guys. (how can they do everything?) :)
Also last weeks Gravitaatio gig was added to the GIGs page. That's about it, check out the practice tapes and hold your breath for the video. Keep on dunkin'.
December 13 2001 - Little Bits.
Hi. To add to the whole multimedia coverage of the Vernissa gig in September, we have a few cool photos of our faces at the PHOtos page. Also, we have a new gig to report about at the GIGs page. And, to let you know on stuff - if anyone's even listening - we spent last weekend running around in black suits in the North Espoo wilderness as we shot our musik video for "Good King". We'll pose some more next weekend and should enter the feared editing phase early next week; hopefully we'll have something ready to show before next summer; it should be superr!
November 22 2001 - Updates and what not.
Some updates; the GIGs Played section was updated with info on our Bar 68 show. A few new PHotos were added as well. Also a winner to the Blanket Summer Trivia quiz was found thru extensive research. We found Mr. Juha Sarmavuori to be the man with the most useless Blanket knowlegde, he will be showered with all kinds of prizes and stuff too. Congratulations!
The Blanket release: "5" a.ka the Fifth Generation is now available for homeshoppers at the reworked Shop and Drop page. The price is cheap and quality is good as the super goodlooking cdr-single has some extra multimedia features available when you stick the cd in your cd-rom drive. Blanket equals cutting edge!
And oh yeah, while you're shopping, the last of the tshirts are going out at a reduced price of 50 FIM; this would be the wrong time to hesitate. Consume or die!
October 8 2001 - Nu Rok!!!
Ok, lots of new stuff on these pages, but most importantly, five (5!) new songs are available for listen and download! The new songs were recorded under a week ago in Jyväskylä on the studio time we won from the Network band competition; so this stuff is smokin fresh, we don't even have a cover for the publication yet. So find a decent net access somewhere and surf on to the Studio Releases page and listen to the new stuff; any feedback on the new stuff is extremely welcome indeed.
The new songs also sport a new batch of Lyrics w/ ultra-strong messages (all not-so-serious), so check them out while listening please. Of the five songs four have been played live previously, the "Rotta" ("Rat") song was originally composed to function as a fucked-up wedding march for Jussi's and Satu's wedding, but we never played it there.
And while we're at it; the promised video clip from last month's Vernissa gig was added to the Videos subpage. There should be a bandwidth for everybody there; check it out it's quite fun. That's about it; we truly hope that you dig the new stuff, it's all true. Take it easy.
September 25 2001 - Updates and Stuff.
Hey. These pages were updated a bit in the last few days; the Song Archive page now has handy little links to the lyrics of each song so you can decipher the "mess age" in "hour muse sick" a bit easier. The Pukinmäki Set was updated to our GIGs page as usual. Also nowadays any links pointing out from Blanketland will pop-up in a new window automatically to keep you glued to your favorite rok site.
In more exciting news, Blanket will be in a studio in Jyväskylä for three days next week recording maybe 3 or 4 songs. And as usual, the new stuff will be available for download from these pages not long after that. Stay tuned, it should rok-o.
September 13 2001 - Vernissa Rocked and Recorded.
Hi people. Last week's Vernissa gig will be brought to you in a very multimedia kind of way. First we have the setlist and notes up on the GIGs played page; then we have the whole set available for listen and download too at our groundbreaking LIVE music page; and we will be bringing some sort of video clip and photos from that show as well later on... But for now; go check out what kind of shape we are in by listening the live mp3's - it's all real and pretty good too.
Other news; these pages have been updated slightly over the past month; the winner of the Blanket 2001 Trivia Quiz will be announced and awarded later on. Our video shoot for "Good King" will be delayed until November as the weather will then reflect the song's deep meaning much better. (yea right) That's about it. Keep it real.
Oh, and I can't help mentioning at this time: as the mourn for the thousands of innocent people that lost their lives tragically on Tuesday in New York; I hope that we will spare a similar thought for the millions of innocent people who have died in Iraq as a result of the sanctions. (If you're interested, you can get more info on this here.)
August 12 2001 - Tavastia Rok!
Yea! So Tavastia was rocked according to plan and everything as well as we could of hoped for. Thanks to everybody involved; the GIGs / Past Shows page has the setlist from the evening and some more info on this ground-breaking (at least from our standpoint) night. Thanks.
August 6 2001 - Big Gig Don't Miss!
Breaking news! The wonderful rok band Reprinted were in need of a warm-up act for their upcoming gig at Tavastia, and as the boy scouts were are, we were more than eager to help out and so we'll be playing a surprise warm-up gig at Tavastia Thursday August 9th 2001! Tickets are a cheap 40 FIM, come in masses, we will rok like there's no tomorrow. ("There isn't, there wasn't one yesterday.") The GIGs page has mostly same hype.
June 20 2001 - Litl update
one foto added to the Fotoz section.
June 14 2001 - No Sleep Until Content.
Hey, lots of new stuff for the Blanket lover / occasional
drifter.
First; a whole bunch of new mp3's are available at the reworked MP3's page. We drew a step closer to our noble
goal of publishing every single piece of crap we manage to put together.
Check it out, it's all true.
Second; a really nice waste of time for the boring summer months,
the first ever Blanket Summer Trivia Quiz!
Know the answers to 15 difficult questions about the your favorite band
and you might win some stuff and a free ride somewhere.
Third; a bunch of smaller updates; a slightly reworked front page, the meet the
band section was renamed and updated too and you can also join the
Blanket mailing list from here, which is nice. And the forgotten song page was updated with the oldie
"Jamline".
That's about it, a lot of new stuff to roam around in, put the word out, have a good summer and good luck on the trivia thing. We love you too.
